Can you imagine a world without heart attacks? A place free of strokes, heart failure, and other big cardiovascular emergencies?

The Heart and Stroke Foundation can imagine such a fate, and for them, it’s not just fantasy; it’s their goal.  One of their biggest, most recognizable and entertaining-to-watch events is the Big Bike, which travels across Canada to raise awareness: “The Heart&Stroke Big Bike is a team event geared towards community organizations, companies and groups. Teams made up of 29 enthusiastic riders each commit to raise $50 or more. A driver is provided by the Foundation and riders pedal through their community in support of heart disease and stroke research.” (http://www.bigbike.ca/site/c.8oLGKOPnE5LQH/b.8855927/k.74A8/About_Big_Bike.htm).

Century 21 Bike

The bike itself is a great event, and one of our own staff, Allie, is partaking in the Big Bike in Guelph, ON on August 12th. As part of her personal fundraising effort, she is playing a mini-marathon of exclusively bike racing games on our Twitch channel this Sunday, August 3rd, from 11am EST – 5 pm EST. Her goal is to raise $125 for the Big Bike event, raise awareness for the Heart and Stroke foundation, and show the world just how terrible she is at racing games; the current roster of games include Excite Bike!, Road Rash, and Mario Kart (hey, they have scooters!).

If you have any questions on how you can get involved, or want to suggest a game, you can comment below, or visit our Facebook and Twitch pages during the mini-marathon to let us know!  And of course, don’t forget to donate!
